Under the upcoming partnership, top maritime students from University of Cebu which is the largest seafaring institution in the Philippines will receive comprehensive training, and guaranteed employment opportunities aboard EPS vessels.
The initiative comes as the Singapore-based ship management company prepares to recruit roughly 2,300 cadets over the next two to three years to support its growing fleet of more than 350 modern ships.
EPS representatives expressed satisfaction with the caliber of Filipino seafarers produced by University of Cebu, driving the interest in a formal collaboration.
EPS Chief Executive Officer Cyril Ducau recently visited the UC campus to meet with university founder Atty. Augusto W. Go, UC-METC Campus Director, Capt. Gerry D. Enjambre, Dean of the College of Maritime Education, C/M Guillermo Diluvio, Campus Linkage Office Head, Ms. Josie Sumayod, and school officials. Discussions centered on reviewing UC's maritime curriculum and aligning educational standards with the demands of modern, green-technology-driven shipping operations.
With a 60-year track record in global ship management, EPS is scaling its operations through advanced, technology-focused vessels. Company officials noted that securing a steady pipeline of highly trained maritime professionals from institutions like UC is essential to sustaining safe and sustainable fleet growth.
